Public School Teachers, Comfortably Retired
Profile:
A husband and wife both taught for decades and have been retired for more than 10 years. They were true to their long-term plan and as a result are living their dream.
Some of the most content retirees are those who spend $2 less than they make instead of $2 more than they make. In the end, the difference is huge.
Bradway Plan:
The couple began working with one of our advisors some 25 years ago. Best described as people who lived within their means, the key to their retirement plan was saving – always saving more than they spent, which sounds simple but is actually rare. The couple accumulated money thanks to their steady approach through good years and bad. They were able to stay true to their long-term plan and not overreact, even during some tough times.
When it came time to retire, the couple was able to purchase the 30-foot sailboat they had dreamed of. To this day they sail all year long. Their ability to be disciplined, living within their means and working with an advisor who encouraged and monitored their savings approach brought the plan to fruition.
For this couple, the quality of their life is defined by surrounding themselves and being happy with what’s important to them, and not always being in pursuit of something else. The Bradway planning process and ongoing relationship is focused on knowing and understanding what’s important to our clients, then assuring that the plan is on course to meet client goals.
